Dear schoolmaster/schoolmistress, parents and children

COMPETITION FOR CHILDREN GRADE ONE TO SIX

Dar es Salaam Afternoon School in partnership with Dutch organization ‘Kind & Wereld (Child & World)’, the Tanzanian newspaper Majira and the Dutch newspaper Metro are organizing a children competition to promotes ‘World Citizenship’.

All over the world Christmas is a moment to be together, to help each other and to make lovely Christmas wishes.

We are looking for the funniest/nicest/ prettiest Christmas wish from children classes 1-6 of the primary schools in Dar es Salaam. The seven nicest stories will be published in the Dutch newspaper Metro on the 21st of December 2009. In this way children and parents in Holland will be able to read and share the Christmas wishes from you Tanzanian pupil/child.

During the same time this action will be running in Dutch primary schools of Amsterdam. The six nicest Christmas wishes from the Dutch pupil will be placed in the Majira on the 20th of December 2009.

Rules for the Christmas wish:
- The Christmas wish should contain not more than 150 words;
- The wish should be hand written and possibly with a drawing;
- The text should be written in English;
- The wish should not be personal for the child himself;
- The child needs to add his/her name, age, picture, address, grade and the name of the school;
- The deadline for the wishes will be on December 10. 2009
